A nationwide call out was launched in November 2019 for the WoW Awards, seeking nominations for women who are fighters for gender equality and social justice.
Over fifty women were nominated (see poster below) and were celebrated via a social media campaign. The five women were selected as WoW awardees 2020 are Caoimhe Butterly, Catherine Joyce, Éadaoin Kelly, Marie Mulholland and Mavis Ramazani.
This summer, with filmmaker Jeda De Brí we have made film portraits with each woman. Each portrait is approximately two minutes and the women introduce their vision and work in a voiceover.
