Katarina Juvančič is a singer-songwriter, performer, activist, cultural anthropologist, ethnologist, cultural sociologist and music writer/publicist from Slovenia. As a music researcher she participated in numerous symposiums and conferences around the globe (USA, EU countries, ex-Yu countries), and has been touring extensively around Europe & Asia as a performer (UK, Germany, Austria, India, Sri Lanka, ex-Yu countries).
As a performer she released two albums – Selivke/Migratory Birds in 2012 and Hope’s Beautiful Daughters in 2014, both focusing on stories about women. Her music can be found on numerous music compilations in Slovenia and abroad. She is also the initiator and coordinator of a recently established group of women in music in Slovenia named “GLASNE/THE LOUD ONES: Initiative For Women In Music” and is looking forward to collaborate with similar institutions abroad.
